These systems are very effective at ensuring your vehicle stays sure-footed in all sorts of conditions. But, before trying to follow that Ferrari around a corner, be very aware of the systems limitations. Stability control systems do not make traction- they just make the best use of what traction is already available. You still need to drive for the conditions. A slippery corner is still a slippery corner, stability control or not. The system doesn't make up for common sense: if you drive like an idiot, or point the car into a ditch, that's where it will wind up. Used with proper driving for the conditions and appropriate tires for the season, one can experience an added degree of safety and peace of mind.
