Speed traps: Windsor, Hamilton, Toronto and Edmonton the most closely watched in Canada

The National Motorists Association (NMA) published a list of the 25 Canadian and American cities with the highest number of speed traps reported by the public since September 1, 2009.


Windsor came in second with an average of 17.6 police interventions per 100,000 residents, while Hamilton (5.0), the Toronto Metropolitan Area (4.7) and Edmonton (3.3) ranked 15th, 17th and 19th, respectively.

The study conducted by the National Speed Trap Exchange (NSTE), an organization sponsored by the NMA, found that the most closely watched provinces are Ontario and New Brunswick, both with an average of 8.7 traps per 100,000 residents.
