As for the two-door, two-seat Viper, it's returning in hardtop form for the first time since 2002. This time around it has what Accavitti calls a "double-bubble" roof design and "dramatic rear styling with wraparound taillamps reminiscent of the 1996-2002 Dodge Viper GTS Coupe."
Accavitti says that the Viper is "revered by many as the ultimate North American sports car," though he'd probably get an argument on that front from anyone familiar with the more accommodating Corvette, particularly in its new ZO6 iteration.
Anyway, this model has "bold looks and a no-nonsense appearance" that are "a perfect match to Dodge Viper's outrageous power and performance."
It also comes with a more flamboyant paint scheme than you normally find on a production car, that being a Viper Blue exterior accented with Stone White stripes, which is a nod to the blue-with-white-stripes motif of the original Dodge Viper GTS Coupe.
SRT started with the Dodge Viper SRT10 Convertible in developing this coupe, and the addition of the roof structure makes it more torsionally rigid than the original, though no geek-pleasing numbers were released in support of this.
Accavitti adds that, from an aerodynamic standpoint, the Viper SRT10 Coupe is "designed for downforce and high-speed stability, with a sloping roofline and deck lid spoiler."
In addition to the new canopy and deck lid, there's also a special windshield surround, door side glass, rear fascia, quarter panels and taillights.
To allow slightly better storage spaces than the previous coupe (which wouldn't be hard, given how bad it was), the decklid opening is deeply integrated into the rear fascia, which offers a low lift-over height for stowing cargo.
For the record, the usable trunk space is 177 litres, which is more than the 113 litres of the convertible but still not very much.
