Conor Daly collected a second win in a row from the pole position in Laguna Seca during the third Round of this 2010 season of the Star Mazda Championship.

Daly did not have it all that easy this time, but patience paid off as he calmly let Tristan Vautier lead the first half of the race, waiting for him to make a mistake. Half way through the race, a wheel dropped off on Vautier's car and forced the driver to make a pit stop to repair his consequently bent right rear suspension. He later returned but could only finished 15th.

"That spared me having to make a banzai move in the closing laps and I'm happy with how the race worked out for us," Daly, who is going to race in front of his home-crowd for the first time next weekend at O'Reilly Raceway Park, illustrated.

Norwegian Anders "The Viking" Krohn took the second place finish in front of young Quebecker Mikael Grenier who gets a first podium this season.

Daly increased his championship lead to 20 points over Krohn (127-107). Grenier is third with 101 followed by Connor De Phillippi (95) who finished fourth in Laguna Seca.

In Master Series (drivers 45 and older), Gerry Kraut took the victory from 10th overall position.

The top-finishing Expert Series (drivers aged 30-44) was Texan J.W. Roberts who finished 13th out of the 18 cars field.
