Canadian race car driver Jacques Villeneuve arrived in Brazil Tuesday to contest a round of the Copa Caixa Brazilian Stock Car series this weekend called Corrida do Milhao.

The special race, held on the Autodromo de Interlagos in Sao Paulo, is offering one million dollar to the winner. Villeneuve will be driving a Chevrolet sponsored by Shell V-Power.

Villeneuve arrived in Sao Paolo Tuesday after a long trip. In the U.S., his flight was delayed for two hours and in Brazil, it took nearly one hour for the passengers to leave the plane to get to the terminal.

“The trip was a bit tiring and did not expect such cold weather in Sao Paulo!” said Villeneuve.

“Anyway, I am very happy to race again in Brazil.”

Testing will begin tomorrow, Thursday. Then there will be three qualifying sessions on Friday and Saturday and the 70-minute race, Round 7 of the Copa Caixa will go green on Sunday at 11, local time.
