Here's a short video that shows the tricky technique of driving a stock car on a short oval, showing the footwork of the driver.

The footage was recorded at New Smyrna Speedway last year during the qualifying attempt of 24- year-old John Gibson driving the No. 13S MitiGator/Circle Track Ford Fusion for Gibson Motorsports.

Gibson qualified fifth for that round of the USAR Pro Cup Series.

Note how he's warming up the brakes (as well as the wheels and tires) with his left foot when he's getting up to speed on the race track. Then, note how he's driving with both feet to properly balance the car on the entry of the corners.

Interestingly, the car is sponsored by MitiGator. It is an engineered cushioning system designed to protect people and equipment from these assaults and to allow them to continue to perform their jobs or enjoy their leisure time.

The MitiGator uses patented air control technology working with over 4,000 surfaces per square foot to dissipate energy before it is transmitted to the body and thus help alleviate the problems.
