SUBARU INTRODUCES SIX-CYLINDER OUTBACK SEDAN FOR 2002

The stability system helps keep the car going where the driver steers it, using individual wheel braking and throttle control to correct understeer (front-wheel drift) or oversteer (rear-wheel drift). The four-wheel electronic traction control system (TCS) adds an extra margin of driving safety without impeding All-Wheel Drive operation.

MCINTOSH AUDIO
The Outback H6-3.0 VDC wagon introduced the U.S. market's first factory installation of a premium automotive sound system from McIntosh, and the 2002 Outback H6-3.0 VDC sedan shares this system. Famous for its high-end home audio equipment, McIntosh brings a new level of mobile sound to the auto industry. The system includes an AM/FM/weatherband receiver with a cassette player and single-disc CD player, a five-channel, 200-Watt amplifier and seven speakers, including a subwoofer.

FULLY EQUIPPED
The 2002 Outback H6-3.0 VDC sedan comes fully equipped, including automatic climate control with air filtration and an ambient temperature gauge, power moonroof, leather upholstery, an eight-way power driver's seat, and a distinctive mahogany wood and leather-wrapped steering wheel by Momo.

Standard safety equipment includes three-point seatbelts for all five seating positions, four-channel anti-lock brakes (ABS), dual front airbags and front seat side impact airbags. A dual-stage front airbag on the passenger side determines the correct deployment strength depending on the severity of an impact. The front three-point seatbelts feature electrically triggered pre-tensioners with force limiters.
