Subaru will unveil the Forester 2.0D and the Impreza 2.0D, both equipped with a new diesel engine, at the 2008 Mondial de l'Automobile de Paris, which will be held from October 2 to 19.
The 4-cylinder, horizontally-opposed turbo diesel engine, or boxer, features 2 litres of displacement; it produces 147 hp (in the Forester) and 150 hp (in the Impreza) as well as 258 lb-ft of torque. It's coupled with a new, 6-speed, manual transmission. According to Subaru, the new duo increases fuel efficiency while reducing CO2 emissions.
These vehicles will be commercialized in Europe next fall, but Subaru has not yet confirmed when they'll be available in North America.
