Dodge charged headlong back into the Canadian compact passenger car market today with a savvy, street-smart new four-door sedan called the Dodge SX 2.0.
The SX 2.0 made its Canadian debut at a splashy fashion show-themed media reveal at the Kool Haus in downtown Toronto, truly 'SX' IN THE CITY.
The newest member of DaimlerChrysler Canada's performance-oriented Dodge brand family, the Dodge SX 2.0 goes on sale along with the company's other 2003 models at DC retailers across Canada in the next few weeks.
"The 2003 Dodge SX 2.0 offers Canadian small car buyers a great blend of fun-to-drive characteristics and superior handling", John H. MacDonald, Dodge Brand Manager, DaimlerChrysler Canada, said. The car's base price of $14,995 will make Dodge SX 2.0 especially attractive to first-time car buyers and young families", Mr. MacDonald said.
The Dodge SX 2.0 family includes three models - SX 2.0, Sport and the potent SX 2.0 R/T.
Standard engine in the 2003 Dodge SX 2.0 is a 132-horsepower, 2.0-litre 16-valve SOHC with standard five-speed manual transmission or optional four speed automatic. The SX 2.0 R/T is powered by a 150-horsepower High-Output 2.0-litre engine.
Acknowledging that young driving enthusiasts want to customize their cars, Dodge SX 2.0 offers a number of attention-grabbing options, including power-operated sunroof, unique 15-inch wheels, six-disc, in-dash CD changer, rear deck spoiler and full power equipment. Fifteen inch chrome wheels are available on SX 2.0 Sport.
Also standard on Dodge SX 2.0 is DaimlerChrysler's Sentry Key(R) Engine Immobilizer System which utilizes an electronically-coded ignition key. All 2003 Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep vehicles also come with an industry-leading seven-year, 115,000-kilometre powertrain warranty and seven years or 115,000 kilometres of 24-hour Roadside Assistance.
