Tesla is offering well-to-do consumers improved battery longevity and performance for its Model S car and its brand-new Model X SUV.
When fitted with Ludicrous high-performance mode, the S P100D can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, and has a battery autonomy range of 500 km. This option being priced at $10,000 USD, it’s clear Tesla is targeting a clientele that wants performance and is ready to pay for it. With this option in place consumers should be more than satisfied, as the car becomes one of the fastest street-legal vehicles in the world. For those who already own an S P90D Ludicrous, the price tag for the upgrade will be $20,000 USD.
For its part, the Ludicrous-equipped X P100D can go from a stop to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, with an autonomy for the battery of 465 km. The slightly lower figures in relation to the Model S are due to the heavier weight of the SUV.
