Mazda still hasn’t released the official pricing on its 2011 MAZDASPEED3, but its MSRP will likely be reduced so it can hold its own against the Volkswagen Golf GTI and Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart.

The strategy is rather simple. Mazda will offer a Technology Package including automatic headlamps, 10-speaker BOSE stereo system with 6-CD changer, Centerpoint and Audio Pilot features, SIRIUS satellite radio, smart key, push-button start, power driver’s seat, colour information display and navigation system.

These features were all previously standard in the 2010 MAZDASPEED3 that retails for $32,995. Supposing the new Technology Package would cost around $3,000, the MSRP of the 2011 edition could drop right below the $30,000 mark.

Note that the Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback Ralliart fetches $31,998 while the 2011 VW Golf GTI 5-door has a base price of $29,875.
