From the 2011 season, the DTM enthusiasts may look forward to a very special highlight: on 16th and 17th July 2011, Munich’s Olympic Stadium, located in the city’s ’Olympiapark’, will stage a top-class show event for the first time.
The spectators attending the two-day event will witness qualifying rounds on Saturday and knockout races on Sunday. The special feature of the event: in every round, two drivers will battle it out against one another.
The races will be held on a 1.192-kilometre tarmac track built extra for this event in the stadium. The circuit will meet all the safety standards of a conventional DTM circuit.
On both days, the DTM race action will be spiced up by an exciting support programme. In addition to live concerts of international music interpreters, a Red Bull Racing Formula 1 driver is going to execute demonstration runs with his Formula 1 single-seater.
Furthermore, classic racing cars will thrill the crowds in the ’World of Race Cars’.
The Red Bull X-Fighters also will be on site to stun the spectators with their spectacular freestyle motocross show. The programme will be completed by a power-slide show and a motorbike-stunt show.
