This weekend saw Montreal's Festival Mode & Design rock the fashion world of the downtown core with live fashion shows, bands, DJs, and some of Montreal's hottest home-grown designer talents taking the stage. Nestled between two of Montreal's top style havens, Centre Eaton and Centre Montreal Trust, McGill College was transformed into a live catwalk where willowy models showcased this year's hottest trends and styles.

But this year, high fashion rolled in on four wheels care of the Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited. In conjunction with the Fashion Mode & Design festival, Ford presented the Fusion Wear Contest--one lucky winner was drawn for a $10,000 wardrobe prize, all from local designers. Booths were open all weekend for people to enter for an opportunity to win the chic prize. Not to mention the massive big screens flashing bright music video dancers and the live Fusion dancers with seemingly endless amounts of energy rocking out on the Fusion stages all night long.

And instead of just sporting their logo on the billboards and setting up simple registration booths at the fashion festival, Ford put on a real show--right down to the Fusion's runway debut.

On June 6th, Ford revved up the festival with a fleet of oh-so stylish, jet-black Ford Fusions chauffeuring sleek models dressed in Fusion branded clothes to an elegant red carpet to strut their stuff. With the instantly recognizable Fusion television-ad tune booming from the stage, the sedans were the stars of the evening.

The Ford Fusion was, according to Ford, designed to defy convention and communicate confidence. After being picked by 63,000 drivers as the 2006 "Most Appealing Midsize Sedan," it seemed a natural choice that the Fusion should head Montreal's most coveted fashion weekend. With a distinctive look and a surprising drive, the Fusion embodies the essence of style and design--original and entertaining.

The Fusion Wear Contest was designed not only with the Fusion brand in mind, but also with Montreal's own bevy of designers. The $10,000 designer wardrobe prize will be picked from one of the follow homegrown style gurus: Marie Saint Pierre, Rudsak, Helmer, Muse, Philippe Dubuc, Hilary Radley, M siamo, Nadya Toto or Michel Desjardins.
