For the Canadian Grand Prix, which was held in Montreal from June 8 to 10, the Gilles Villeneuve Museum decided to move part of its precious collection closer to the track so that more and more fans could admire the fabulous cars. What a great idea! The temporary showroom was set up at the Bonsecours Market, in the Old Port of Montreal. During the fundraising event, on Thursday night, none other than Mrs. Georgette Villeneuve, Gilles' mother, was on hand.

The Ferrari T5-C2
Without a doubt, the highlight of this exhibition was Gilles' own Ferrari 312-T5. Its current owner is a huge collector and fan of Villeneuve. He kindly lent the car to the Museum in order to allow scores of fans to get up close and personal with this sacred ride.

Cars, pictures and souvenirs

In addition to the various March open-wheel cars driven by Gilles (Skiroule, Direct Film), there were several objects that personally belonged to him, such as a helmet, trophies and even the Ferrari 308 GTB which he used to drive in Italy and Monaco. Moreover, fans were able to watch a few videos highlighting his greatest career achievements, particularly his epic duel with René Arnoux. It was fun to see pictures of the younger family, with his wife Joann and his two children, Jacques and Mélanie.
