"The Grand Evening" of the Grand Prix du Canada to return on Thursday June 9 with benefits going to the CHU Sainte Justine and Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur Foundations under the presidency of Bernard Ecclestone, President of Formula One Management and Michael Fortier, Vice-Chairman of RBC Capital Markets.

Following the resounding success of last year's inaugural edition, the Grand Prix du Canada announced today the return of the gala "The Grand Evening". The exclusive social event, which will once again this year serve as the inaugural soirée of the 2011 Grand Prix du Canada, will be held on Thursday, June 9 at Windsor Station's Salle des Pas Perdus.
Once again, the event will be co-chaired by Mr. Bernard Ecclestone and the Honourable Michael Fortier. All the proceeds will jointly benefit the CHU Sainte Justine and Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur de Montréal Foundations.
The 2010 edition of "The Grand Evening", was held just a few hours before Formula 1's first laps on Friday at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, was organized in Montréal by Octane Racing Group and entirely produced locally.
More than 850 guests, including drivers and management of the 12 teams competing in the Formula 1 World Championship attended among those F1 drivers Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton, Mark Webber, Nico Rosberg, Jarno Trulli, Pedro de la Rosa, Sebastien Buemi, Nick Heidfeld, Nico Hulkenberg, and Heikki Kovalainen.
"The Grand Evening" is an official activity of the 2011 Grand Prix du Canada and is presented in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz Canada. Tickets for the 6 pm cocktail, the 7:30 pm dinner and the evening are currently being offered at $1,000 each.
