A sleek looking 2+2 sports car that is mounted on a modular lightweight bonded aluminum chassis. The vehicle weighs just 1350kg (estimated curb weight).
Power is provided by a modified Toyota 3.5L V6 with duel VVT (Variable Valve Timing) which delivers 267hp / 252 lb ft of torque.
6 speed manual gearbox.
4 piston caliper AP Racing brakes all round.
Yokohama 225/40/R18 tires on the front, and 255/35/R19 on the rear.
And of course, Performance! Although official figures have yet to be released, but early indications suggest a maximum speed of 160mph, and a 0-60mph time of sub-5 seconds.
Another quite pleasant surprise is the guide line fuel figure estimates of around 30 mpg combined.
Now before you go and start thinking "Yes, but it's from a rather small manufacturer, how reliable will it be?", let me tell you something about that little car company...It is estimated that almost 30% of the vehicles on the road today have a little bit of Lotus in them; be it in engine design and technology, chassis engineering, ride and handling development, of even the overall styling.
Stealing a favorite saying from one of Britain's most famous actors, Sir Michael Caine, "Not a lot of people know that"!
Of course, it could be a while before you get your hands on the new Evora because the vehicle doesn't go on sale in the UK until spring 2009, so it's my guess that we can expect to see it at least a year after that.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm going to start saving my pennies!
