Many enthusiast have been clamouring the fact that only Europe and other target markets get the option of purchasing a new Scirocco. From the onset of the rebirth of the fabled Scirocco, the Big Wigs from Wolfsburg had little or no intentions of making the car cross the Pond, fearful that it might hurt sales of the equally-loved GTI.
Now that Jonathan Browning runs Volkswagen's U.S. Operations, things may change, but not soon enough for some. Mr Browning stated that he'd love to see the sporty car in the US. Should he get his wish, VW fanatics in Canada may get theirs; as we know, although independent, VW Canada could scarcely make a tangible business plan to import the car in Canada alone.
The present car is barely two years old so the next generation of the Scirocco may, if at all, be the one to come to us, not just the US. Given the current typical product cycles at Volkswagen, the next Scirocco is most likely still three years off. A 2015 in 2014 perhaps?
