The Th!nk City is a 100-percent electric car manufactured in Norway by Think Global. It will be sold in the United States starting in 2009 at an estimated retail price of less than $20,000US.

For consumers who are still not convinced of the durability of batteries, the company said it plans on launching a long-term lease program like in Europe.

The Th!nk City is 3,124-mm long, which makes it longer than a smart fortwo and shorter than a Toyota Yaris. It offers a range of 177 km (110 mi) at a speed of 104 kph (65 mph). Think Global CEO Jan-Olaf Willums added that top speed could be increased, but doing so would reduce the available range.

Right now, a full charge takes about 3 hours. However, the company recently teammed up with A123 Systems Inc. to develop advanced lithium-ion batteries to improve the functionality of the Th!nk City. For the time being, it's the world's only crash-tested and highway-certified electric car, making it an ideal solution for green markets such as California.
