From 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on June 7, 2009, the Parc Marie-Victorin in Kingsey Falls (385 Marie-Victorin Blvd.) will host a unique event open to all.

Among the various activities planned for the afternoon, visitors will get the chance to discover different types of vehicles on display as well as talk to the exhibitors.

Toyota will present its lineup of hybrid vehicles including the all-new 2010 Prius with solar roof. Compared to the current generation, the 2010 model produces 22% more power while consuming 7% less fuel.

Visitors will also get the chance to learn about alternative technologies that are already on the market, unknown or still at the prototype phase. On display will be the ZENN, the electric car made in Quebec, the two-wheeled BionX, Véléc and Norco vehicles as well as the Segway Passion. The fully electric Ecoboat will also be on demonstration on the Nicolet river.

The Université de Sherbrooke will present two mechanical engineering projects. The first is a Volt Thor electric motorcycle that reaches a top speed of 130 km/h and features a 140-km operating range. The second project, named Phoebus, is an electric car that corresponds to the Quebec way of life.

At 2:00 p.m. physicist and author of Rouler sans pétrole, Mr Pierre Langlois, will hold a conference under the main tent and present his conclusions pertaining to alternative transportation.
