Mobility seeing simultaneous trends towards utility models and electric technologies

BMW iX3
Just recently introduced for the first time at the 2018 Beijing auto show, the BMW iX3 concept is, as its name suggests, an i variant of the automaker’s popular compact SUV. At first glance, the front end is dominated by the front grille fused at its centre – a design element that might raise the ire of brand purists. But the most important element of an electric SUV is not looks but the way it is powered. In this case, BMW installed a powertrain that generates 270 hp, and delivers a range of 400 km. In addition, the automaker developed this powertrain in such a way that it can be easily integrated on other platforms. We fully expect to see the technology migrate quickly to other models in the company’s lineup.
