Best mid-size sedan: Toyota Camry
Yup, the ultimate “beige” car in the minds of consumers for so many years takes the title in our non-scientific ranking of mid-size sedans offering the best value. The revised new edition, available with a regular or hybrid powertrain, is more attractive to look at, but it’s when you’re behind the wheel that the Camry really shines. The interior is on a par with the best Toyota models, meaning the quality is good all-around, while the driving experience has been mad far more pleasant than you could ever have expected from this “beige” model. Ok, we’re not talking a BMW 3 Series kind of experience, but we still salute the work accomplished by Toyota engineers.
Also worthy of mention is the venerable Honda Accord, also renewed this year; its new turbo engines are much more dynamic than what the model got to play with before. Honda continues to offer a manual transmission with both of the available powertrains; the hybrid version ,for its part, comes with a CVT transmission.
