7 -1967 Oldsmobile Thor Concept
If you’re familiar with the Toronado model that Oldsmobile debuted in 1966. You’ll recognize some of in this design study that was commissioned from Ghia by Oldsmobile design head Bill Mitchell. This piece was the creation of the celebrated Giorgetto Giugiaro. The study was to lead the way to a second generation of the Toronado. Trouble was, Bill Mitchell didn’t like it.
8 - 1977 Oldsmobile Toronado XSR Concept
The Toronado did continue on, but by the time it was a decade old, it had largely lost its panache. In 1977, convertible models had disappeared from the landscape at General Motors, but Oldsmobile got the idea to develop a version with a partially open roof, the famous T-Top.
