The idea was definitely original and assuredly a little crazy. It might have worked, too, if the execution had been flawless and the price point had not been so astronomical. The Cadillac Allante, designed by Pininfarina, assembled in Italy and then sent to North America to be powered by Cadillac, was never going to be as successful as the automaker hoped. Maybe the fact that the cost of shipping bodies by airplane caused costs to skyrocket had something to do with its failure. Just sayin’!
