It's dependable, affordable and fuel efficient- and it's now one of the most popular vehicles in the world. Toyota Canada announced March 1st the sale of the millionth Corolla in Canada. It's an impressive number that speaks volumes to the highly esteemed vehicle which holds a place in the hearts of many Canadian drivers.


Introduced in 1966, the model has been built in Canada since 1988, and is also produced in various assembly plants in over a dozen other countries. It's been awarded an impressive list of accolades too, including best compact car and a sure pick for total owner satisfaction. For a small car, that's a pretty impressive resume.

Toyota claims its recipe for success is equal parts quality, durability, and reliability alongside occupant protection, fuel economy and good looks. Being fun to drive is important too, they say.

Owners can even customize their Corolla with one of three trim levels (CE, Sport and LE) and add a slew of accessories to match their needs.

Of course, the price is often a deciding factor, and drivers after sensible fun can get into a 2007 model for under $15,800.
