Safety (15%)

Traction and stability control: These two systems are not mandatory yet but will be in the near future. Do they step in quickly and forcefully? Are they rather seamless and forgiving? How significant is the engine cut-off or brake assist?

Mirrors: This is basically a matter of size, angle and adjustability.

Visibility: Great visibility is when the driver can see clearly all around the vehicle, both at idle and on the road. The size of windows as well as the angle and width of roof pillars are deciding factors. And let's not forget about blind spots.

Overall safety: This assessment includes frame rigidity, the number/location of airbags and the presence of other active/passive safety features.

General appreciation (10%)

General appreciation: This final, subjective evaluation is based on the combination of all previously listed elements. Does the vehicle meet expectations? How does it fare against the competition?
