Even if the Frankfurt Auto Show has only just begun, information about the upcoming Detroit event is emerging. Volkswagen sources have revealed that their employer is planning to introduce a hybrid version of the Jetta in the motor city and to sell it later the same year.
A 1.4-litre turbocharged gasoline engine and an electric motor powered by lithium-ion batteries have been selected to power the car. The German automaker will apparently position his vehicle as a sport model (think of the Honda CR-Z) offering big time fuel savings.
We are unable to provide you with more details for now, but stay tuned because we should have more Jetta Hybrid information to give you by the end of the year.
