Ready for wheelchairs!
The MV-1 is the first US-designed vehicle whose standard specifications meet or exceed the vehicle guidelines of the "Americans with Disabilities Act".

The interior can accommodate the driver and up to five passengers, including two in wheelchairs (facing forward).

It features a large rear door on the passenger’s side that creates a 1.42-metre tall and 0.9-metre wide opening. A specially-designed access ramp with a capacity of 544 kilos can deploy from underneath the vehicle floor to allow people in a wheelchair to get in. The interior can accommodate the driver and up to five passengers, including two in wheelchairs (facing forward).

In fact, with an interior clearance of nearly 1.5 metre, even those in huge motorized wheelchairs can enter the MV-1.

Familiar components
The body-on-frame structure of the MV-1 houses a Ford-sourced 4.6-litre V8 engine that produces 248 horsepower through a 4-speed automatic transmission (codename 4R75E). This powertrain is shared with the Ford F-150 truck.

Both gasoline and compressed natural gas (CNG) variants are available, the latter providing a range of about 400 kilometres.

The MV-1 will be assembled by AM General, the same company that created the "Humvee", at the Hummer H2 factory in Indiana.
