A 1913 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost used as a mobile dental surgery during World War I will join the impressive line-up of automobiles at this year’s Bonhams Goodwood Festival of Speed Sale on Friday, July 12th.
It was acquired in 1915 by Auguste Charles Valadier, a pioneer in the development of maxillofacial reconstructive surgery, who volunteered his services to the British Red Cross Society in Paris and got called for duty in October of that year.
By the end of 1916, he was stationed at Boulogne and the Rolls-Royce – then bodied in limousine style – had been modified to incorporate a dentist’s chair in the rear.
The car is projected to sell for ₤600,000 (approx. $957,900 CAD).
