Every enthusiast longs to be the one to introduce a new idea or a new
modification, the one that will be spoken about for weeks after the show. One such car that left everyone speechless was a 1994 Corrado VR6 sporting twin custom-built intake manifolds being force-fed by very large twin-turbos. The hood was cut out to allow room for the intake plenums and, once opened, the custom injection setup and stand-alone engine management could be seen. It was equipped with a full race cage, racing buckets and harnesses. Most other mechanical components were upgraded as well: big brakes, quick-ratio rack and pinion steering, a fuel cell, custom exhaust with a side exit tailpipe, lowered suspension as well as race tires. All and all, this car was the ultimate expression of Volkswagen perfection.
By 3pm, the skies were black and the rain was pouring down hard. In minutes, there was an accumulation of nearly 8cm of water everywhere. The trophy presentation took place at that very moment; some came with an umbrella, others with their Easy-ups but everyone had a look of anticipation, hoping that they would be the ones taking home the 3-foot 1st place trophy.
Overall, another great show despite the "water"-fest. Speculation has already begun about how crazy Waterfest 11 will be and about what the next big craze will be.
