The GT features a style all its own in today's return from tomorrow design language, with elements of the Jaguar XK150 and Triumph GT6 coupe playing influence. Vertical stacked headlamps and a stretched ovoid grille garnish the curved front end. At the rear, much like late 1950s and early '60s sports coupes, a one-piece roof and tail come together with an unusually large rear screen, integrated tail pipes and fender mounted brake lights.

Though light, the Wiesmann GT carries an enormous engine on board. Since the beginning in 1990, the company has trusted the silky smooth yet explosively powerful E36 and E46 naturally aspirated inline-6 M3 engines, producing 231 and 343 horsepower. However, as the GT is designed to be a more relaxed car by nature, Wiesmann have opted for BMW's equally powerful 4.4-liter V8, generating 333 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque at 3600 rpm. This engine, currently used in the BMW 745i and 545i, remains civilized in all conditions yet powerful enough for exciting acceleration. Wiesmann claims that the GT will reach 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds, and continue on to a maximum of 280 km/h.

The hand-built GT will go on sale in the second quarter of 2004 at a price tag of E95,000 (CAD$146,440; USD$107,195).
