Ford is set to make big waves with the introduction of its next-generation Focus Coupe. The unprecedented venue for this world premiere will be none other than the stage at American Idol on FOX, tonight at 9:00 p.m.
Ford is listening carefully to its customers, which is why sales increased by 88 percent in April compared to the same month in 2007. The company decided to refresh its lineup to keep the ball rolling.
Largely inspired from the European Ford Fiesta, this new coupe is quite dynamic-looking. The front and rear fascias are new, while a roofline-integrated spoiler and standard 17-inch wheels add a lot of character. All these elements will work to distinguish the 2-door coupe from the 4-door sedan. Also, livelier accelerations will be delivered thanks to the 5-speed manual transmission. Of course, fuel economy will remain a strength, the Focus Coupe averaging 35 mpg (6.7 L/100 km).
The new Ford Focus SES is scheduled to arrive in dealer showrooms at the end of this summer.
