While Honda and Lada completed further testing session ahead of the upcoming season, teams ROAL Motorsport and Bamboo Engineering announced their line up.
Team Honda completed numerous kilometers in january in Valencia, then this week in Aragon, to test several options on the new Honda Civic Super 2000 TC with Gabriele Tarquini and Tiago Monteiro at the wheel. The japanese team made its WTCC debuts in the last rounds of the 2012 season, and is about to tackle a full program this year.
This week, it was Lada’s turn to begin its preparation ahead of the 2013 season. The russian squad, which is about to make its WTCC return, having run two rounds in 2012, completed a test in Magny-Cours with James Thompson at the wheel of the Granta Sport.
Earlier this week, team Münnich Motorsport, which will make its WTCC debuts after several GT1 world championship campains, took its mark with the Seat Leon with german driver Marc Basseng.
Furthermore, team ROARL Racing confirmed Tom Coronel as number one driver, a second BMW 320 TC being ran for Vancouver native Darryl O’Young. Meanwhile, Bamboo Engineering has announced its line-up for 2013, with Alex McDowall remaining in the team alongside newcomer James Nash, who competed the 2012 season with team Arena Ford.
We still wait for the plans of the former Chevrolet driver, reigning world champion Rob Huff, Yvan Muller, and Alain Menu, which programs are still in doubt following Chevrolet’s withdrawal from WTCC at the end of last season.
