The executives of electric car manufacturer ZAP held automotive talks last weekend with the management team of Lotus Engineering. The goal was to explore the next steps in the development of a new generation of electric vehicles, quite possibly the most advanced in history.
After a series of negotiations and a convincing presentation from Lotus Engineering on ZAP's future projects, both companies agreed to put their expertise, experience and entrepreneurship in common in order to build a world-class team that will tackle this major endeavor.
Lotus Engineering is responsible for the design and manufacturing of some of the most successful cars in history and is one of the world's premier automotive consultancies. Meanwhile, ZAP has been a leader in advanced transportation technologies since 1994 and is especially known as a pioneer in the electric car industry.
For Lotus, this partnership could prove to be profitable at short term. Indeed, the technology used by ZAP is already operational and successful. In addition, ZAP's retail network is well established. We can certainly expect to hear a lot from these two companies in the upcoming years.
