After winning back-to-back Indy Light titles back in 1995 and 1996, Forsythe Racing plans on returning to the IndyCar Series' feeder championship. In those days, Canadians Greg Moore and David Empringham were then the team's star drivers.
The team did not comment specifically on a future IndyCar return, but revealed that they are looking to expand their race programme, which, in other words, means that they are probably looking at potential sponsors for next season. This season, Forsythe-Pettit Racing is involved in the Atlantic Championship with two cars driven by Canadian James Hinchcliffe and Mexican David Garza. Although we are left to believe that the Indy Lights program will be added to the Atlantic team, that decision gives more and more credibility to those who believe that the Atlantic series could fold at the end of this year.
