Beefy on the inside, beefy on the outside
The Chevrolet Traverse is one big, and I mean big, SUV. In fact, from the outside it seems exceptionally large for its class. But when you examine it a little more closely, you realize that this Traverse putts its bulk to good use.

What strikes you first, other than the gargantuan proportions and the grille that simply screams Chevrolet, is the fluidity of the Traverse’s lines. (Model: 2011 Chevrolet Traverse LTZ) (Photo: General Motors)

And its profile, its looks, leave no one indifferent. Although this truck is undeniably Chevy, it’s the Traverse’s overall competence and ultimate versatility that will enable it to carve out a niche for itself.

Well-designed interior
What strikes you first, other than the gargantuan proportions and the grille that simply screams Chevrolet, is the fluidity of the Traverse’s lines. Sure, you know it’s big, but the contour-defining curves swelling here and there and the well-proportioned headlamps create the illusion of a modestly sized machine.

The spell quickly dissipates once you hop aboard, though. There’s ample room for both driver and front passenger to move about freely.

Same thing in the second row, where comfy bucket seats beckon. And, joy of joys, the 3rd row is just as spacious! Imagine, a completely usable rear bench, not too hard to get to, where even adults can sit comfortably without having a panic attack!

Sober yet efficient
Also note that other than the abundant space, the entire cabin layout of the Chevrolet Traverse meets your needs. The commands are well positioned, within hand’s reach and relatively easy to use. You can, of course, grumble about the somewhat overloaded centre console, but all the equipment meshes pretty well together, and after a few hours getting to know the systems, using them becomes instinctive.

And for those whose instincts aren’t as completely developed, remember that the Traverse also features redundant controls on the steering wheel that make everything a whole lot easier. To ensure everyone’s comfort, the Traverse offers, in its high-end incarnation, tri-zone climate control.
