All-wheel drive, medium size
Lac St. Joseph, Quebec – In Canada, the Subaru Legacy is much more present in people's mind than on the road... although many still believe that it comes from Sweden, just like Volvo!

The car's fame is largely the result of its standard all-wheel drive system, which makes it particularly desirable to those living in rougher climate conditions.

Growing market presence
Approximately 3,000 Canadians will have purchased a Subaru Legacy at the end of the year. This is huge given that the model has barely topped the annual plateau of 1,000 since the start of the new millennium. Subaru was enjoying way more success with other vehicles.

Of course, the Legacy won't become the best-selling midsize sedan in the country anytime soon. The Toyota Camry, Chevrolet Malibu and Honda Accord prove four times more popular, while the Ford Fusion sells six times more units. However, the Legacy is getting closer and closer...

How did Subaru do it? With racier looks that don't go unnoticed, similar interior room as the main Japanese rivals and comparable fuel economy. In fact, this AWD-equipped sedan burns a little less fuel than a two-wheel drive Camry!

Subtle new features
For 2011, the company again refined the car to keep the snowball rolling. Styling remains unchanged, but the exterior now features folding mirrors (more resistant to small hits and furthering the impression of quality) and two new colour choices are available: Caramel Bronze Pearl and Sky Blue Metallic (the latter being unavailable for the 2.5GT Limited). Meanwhile, Harvest Gold Metallic has disappeared from the catalogue.
