The Cruiser also offers a standard 6-speaker AM/FM/Cassette/CD stereo system - a multi-disc in-dash CD player is optional. I don't know if the sound quality is sweetened by the all-leather interior's absorption characteristics or if it's the general acoustics of the car, but either way the "PT Cruisin" hip hop mix my friend made for me sounds awesome. Of course cruising to phat beats with a booming bass line at high volume can be distracting, making the Turbo's quick to respond anti-lock equipped 4-wheel brakes appreciated.

Even though it looks tall the front-wheel drive Turbo handles very well. Its seating position is a little deceiving because I felt higher in the low-back bucket seats than I actually was. Or maybe it's the way the hood slopes down and out of the way in front that made it easier to see where I was going than many other cars are. Either way the car has a low center of gravity which results in great maneuverability.

My test GT Turbo was equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission with AutoStick manual mode, an optional feature. So if you feel the need for speed, or you want to hold a gear through a corner, the AutoStick feature adds to the driving pleasure. A 5-speed manual comes standard.
