Twin 2 1/4 inch diameter chrome tipped tailpipes protrude out of the lower rear fascia, letting surrounding stoplight dragsters know that this little Dodge means business. Of course, its whale-tail rear spoiler does a good job of luring in would-be victims too. From the hood line forward, the SRT-4 looks vastly different than the SX 2.0. A deeper front fascia incorporates twin rectangular air vents at top, where the SX's smiling crosshair grille lays, and drops the Dodge trademark grille toward its bottom after turning it upside down like its frowning big brother Viper. Two large, round fog lamps at each side appear rally bred, while just below a lower lip spoiler visually connects the rocker panel ground effects. The entire package looks menacing, masculine and far from its cute-as-pie SX roots.

But tough-guy looks hardly means the SRT-4 roughs up its occupants. Actually the fact that side airbags are its only option says a lot about its standard features. These include air-conditioning, power windows, power locks with remote access, cruise control, satin-finish console and dash trim, silver-face instruments (including a boost gauge) surrounded by satin silver ring accents, aluminum foot pedals, a metal cue-ball style shift knob, a leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel and well bolstered sport seats.
