Overall the Lucerne is a roomy, comfortable, smooth, quiet ride, with
nicer than nice styling. Will a new generation of dads and moms discover the joys of owning a Buick thanks to this competent four-door? Only time will tell.
And don't write off its little brother, the LaCrosse which is a solid car for the money. While my GM faithful Dad likes the newest offering from Buick, he also took a second glance at the Avalon (who says you can teach an old dog a new trick or two). Still, this safe, dependable and stylish new Buick is definitely a step in the right direction.

Console: simple and effective. Stereo even has an iPod plug, though, most owners probably won't know what one is... (Photo: Justin Couture, American Auto Press) |
