As odd as it may seem, the masters of all-wheel-drive are offering, for the first time, their own SUV. We are obviously talking about Subaru. Some will bring up the Forester, however, because it is no larger than an Outback, it is difficult to qualify it as a genuine SUV. Similar in size to the Lexus RX 330, the B9 Tribeca offers seating for 5 or 7 passengers depending on the version chosen. On top of its elegant exterior style, the cabin is especially attractive sporting a very design centre console.
Mechanically, the B9 inherits the same 3.0L H6 engine that develops 250 hp as the Outback 3.0R. This motor is teamed up with a 5-speed automatic transmission with manual mode and Subaru excellent Symmetrical AWD. Safety features abound in the Tribeca: VDC (vehicle dynamic stability) system, 8 air bags, a tire pressure monitor system and electric brake force distribution.

Auto123.com's impressions:
Finally, Subaru creates a real competitor to the slew of SUVs that have questionable road manners. It looks good and soul help elevate Subaru from relative obscurity.
