The dashboard is understated and very ergonomic. The driving position is perfect and I liked how the multiple seating adjustments made it easy to find. Front occupants also enjoy excellent visibility.

Access to the interior is no doubt one of the most remarkable aspects of the Sonata. The doors are quite large and open almost 90 degrees; they come in extremely handy for bigger folks... but a bit less in parking lots, as expected.

The new Hyundai Sonata feels much classier than its predecessor.

Outside, it's hard to overlook the fact that the styling is much more dynamic than the previous Sonata's. True, there's a bit of Honda in the grille and taillights, but the overall package is nonetheless easy on the eye. And while it may not be a real head-turner, the Hyundai Sonata looks so much classier than its predecessor, a car which could not have been blander.

Company executives said they want to be among the top 5 automakers in the world by 2010 and, in my opinion, their goal is easily within reach thanks to the introduction of brilliant products like the new Sonata.

Koreans now have a true mid-size sedan to take on the competition. And they do so at an interestingly low price, too!
