The silver Sedona's fan base is increasing as fast as the numbers on the odometer. The van barely gets a breather as the keys are quickly passed from one hand to another.

With the auto show circuit winding down in April, Auto123.com's staffers came back home and we actually spotted the Sedona in our parking lot. Needless to say, our photo and video equipment easily fit behind the 2nd-row seats, and our trips to various cities proved effortless and hassle-free.

The ergonomics of the vehicle have received good comments.

On the road again

A fiftysomething couple drove from Montreal to Quebec City and back. Once again, the van drew praise for the power side doors and rear hatch, which are practical features and are available for less money than rival offerings. If not the most beautiful minivan, they said it's one of the most visually pleasing.

Inside, they also gave good marks regarding the relative ease in finding a good driving position. With tilt steering, multi-adjustable power driver's seat and power-adjustable pedals, the Sedona fit both people nicely; a lack of lateral support spoiled comfort a bit, though, as the seats seem designed for people big and small. The vast quantities of storage space were applauded, and the cruise control was dead-on.

However, they wished the back window would be lower to provide a better view, and driver-side blind sports were also noticed. During the trip, they also found that the windshield wipers fluttered on the top portion of the glass at over 100 km/h, and as a result, didn't wipe properly.

As for fuel consumption during this portion of the test, the Sedona averaged 12.4 L/100 km, which isn't bad, actually, but some of its rivals can do a little better.

We are also very satisfied with the Sedona's road manners, and it made it through the winter on 4-season tires. A lot of other details contribute to the sense of security we feel in this minivan. The four-wheel disc brakes with ABS are very effective, and the backup warning system is a nice feature to have in such a big vehicle.

This minivan has a lot to offer starting with a pleasing look.
