Cruising
The Galant is a surprisingly competent car on the road. The suspension design permits spirited driving when desired without the shortcomings of a high-performance dynamic setup. The Galant is happiest cruising along at highway speeds where the car's wide track aids high-speed stability. The brakes work well although a few repeated hard braking situations had hot brakes-pad smell surround the car. Steering is well sorted out for the car. The only thing is that the turning radius is huge; it really complicates tight manoeuvring in a mall parking lot.
The best way to sum up this car is this way: The Galant Ralliart has plenty of heart however it suffers from a lack of soul. Perhaps this tuned version of the car will help it grow in the minds of the car-buying public.
The Galant's price range starts at $24,998 and rises to $34,998 for the Ralliart as tested.
