Advanced technologies
Yet, power is only part of the equation with the new 2008 Honda Accord, which is now considered as a full-size car by the EPA. Take a closer look under the hood and you'll find some of the most interesting new technologies on the market.

This sedan benefits from Intelligent Variable Valve Timing and Advanced Variable Cylinder Management. Basically, the latter shuts off half of the cylinders in low-speed, light-load situations. Making things even more interesting is the intermediate 4-cylinder mode, which can be used while cruising on the highway, for instance. All these advancements help the Accord achieve greater fuel economy despite the power increase.

The new Accord gets a pair of more powerful, less thirsty engines.

Pleasant driving experience
The Honda Accord has never been a really sporty car. The sedan proved to be a solid, versatile family tourer, while the coupe served as a mildly sportier alternative. Winning over consumers was a safe and pleasantly uneventful driving experience.

The new 2008 model is no exception. The Accord continues to offer predictable handling and pleasant driving dynamics, including smooth, modulated shifts and confidence-inspiring road manners.

Of course, the additional horsepower allow a more spirited performance. On the other hand, the insufficient soundproofing makes the interior fairly noisy at high speeds.

In the end, the 2008 Honda Accord is the product of a successful transformation. There's no doubt in my mind that it will satisfy any Honda fan, especially those who are planning to trade-in their CR-V and go back to a nice family sedan.

The Accord continues to offer predictable handling and pleasant driving dynamics.
