People from all over the world have been praising the Infiniti FX since its original introduction back in 2003. Everyone agreed that no other vehicle had ever displayed such an unorthodox and distinctive bodywork. More importantly, the FX was all show, all go, delivering performances that were simply incredible.

The designers and engineers successfully brought this crossover up to date while not compromising its character.

After five full years on the road, this popular Infiniti was ready for a thorough revision. At the 2008 Geneva Auto Show, Nissan's premium division officially debuted the new FX35 and FX50 models.

Well, congratulations to designers and engineers who successfully brought this crossover up to date while not compromising its character.

The second generation is a direct evolution from the original. The overall shape is nearly identical although a tad larger. The modern design starts with a sloping nose, which is set off by an oversized grille flanked by mean-looking headlights stretching toward the fenders. The aggressive lines extend beyond the wheel arches, where functional side air vents are beautifully integrated.

The roofline is fashionably low, emphasizing that famous squat-looking body. While the rear-end treatment is more aggressive, it still has strong ties to the previous model. Adding a touch of class, the jewel-like taillights now use LEDs and mimic the shape of the headlights.

Incidentally, the entire vehicle is not only sleeker but also more aerodynamic. In fact, the 2009 Infiniti FX boasts the lowest drag coefficient (0.36) of any SUV on the market right now.

The interior is simply gorgeous. While the steering wheel is a bit cluttered, the union between the dashboard and door panels is extremely well executed -- one of the best in the industry. It literally cradles the driver, who has only one thing in mind: hammering the throttle. Fit and finish is impeccable, not to mention material selection: quilted premium leather, brushed aluminum, genuine wood trim, etc. The quality level inside the FX is really sensational.

The interior is simply gorgeous.
