Nissan offers comprehensive accessories to cube owners--including mood-lights and shag
The Nissan cube attracted a landslide of attention at the Auto Show circuit early this year before going on sale last month. When it comes to gawk for the buck, cube is off the scale. In fact, as affordable cars go, there’s arguably nothing that can match it.

Do you own a cube? Considering one? Nissan’s giving customers the option to make some upgrades and customizations through a comprehensive list of accessories.

If owning one of the strangest-looking vehicles of the century doesn’t turn enough heads for your tastes, a few of these add-ons will be sure to do the trick.

“Much like cube, we anticipate cube drivers to be uncompromising and unique, and the optional accessories are another way for them to stand out in a crowd” said Allan Smerek, Director of Aftersales & Quality Assurance with Nissan Canada.

Whether it’s the body or cabin, you’ll find a combination of accessories that’ll generate a nice balance of functionality, uniqueness and style. After all, who wants to blend in?

Into the speed and custom scene? Fancy yourself an import tuner? Get every sideways-ballcapped civic driver to stare with cube’s aero kit. It fits a set of side-skirts, front and rear bumper lips and a roof-mounted spoiler to the exterior for a slicker and more street-smart look. Wearing the aero kit, your cube will look lower, more planted and more substantial. The color-matched five-piece aero kit is priced at $2,011.

Remember, the front of a car instantly defines its character and makes a first impression with those around it. As such, check out cube’s custom checkered chrome grille appliqué ($351), and hood-lip accent molding ($340) to devise a more dynamic and aggressive fascia. Finish off with a chrome accent in the lower grille ($186), and a set of halogen fog-lamps ($422) for maximized visibility and looks.

With the body kit and fascia treatment, you’re well on your way to a one-of-a-kind ride. Chrome mirror caps ($158) and window vent deflectors ($106/pair) are also available.

Various interior accessories have been devised to enhance style and functionality to varying degrees, too.

Cube’s signature accessory is perhaps the shag dashboard topper. It’ll relieve shag-enthusiasts of about sixty bucks, and it’s not really made of shag-- but it is an excellent conversation starter. It also doubles as a holder for delicate items, a funny hat, and a rag in case of an accidental mishap with your favorite beverage.
