A Superhero's Ride
Four-wheel vented anti-lock disc brakes perform admirably, stopping the FX35 in what seems to be the briefest of distances with never a sense of compromised control. To ensure maximum performance in all conditions, the brake package includes Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA).

The interior has been infused with a "coolness" that captures one's attention and I dare say imagination.

Chic cabin is heavily contented
Few crossover cabins can match that of the FX when it comes to hi-tech gizmos and exciting aesthetics. The interior of this ride has been infused with a "coolness" that captures one's attention and I dare say imagination. But it's a busy place. Fortunately the basic audio and HVAC controls are straightforward to operate.

Despite the cabin's near excessive collection of confusing buttons and switches let me make a few quick comments. I love the diamond-tufted leather upholstery; it's sufficiently elegant for the finest of motor cars. The driving position is splendid and the level of overall comfort in the front seats is outstanding.

Legroom in the rear is acceptable but for a vehicle of this size and stature, I would have expected a little more generosity. Cargo space behind the rear seat is also on the lean side due to the heavily raked roofline at the rear of the FX. But that's an intentional trade-off in favor of enhancing the visual "wow" factor.

Technology and safety in abundance
My tester was loaded with some pretty interesting technology and safety gear, beginning with Infiniti's Lane Departure Warning (LDW) system combined with their Lane Departure Prevention (LDP) system.

The former provides an audible warning when the vehicle wanders too close to a lane dividing line while the latter gently pulls the vehicle back into its lane. These devices are disabled when the signal lights are activated, and they can be completely driver-deactivated with a switch.

Also worthy of specific mention is Infiniti's Around View Monitor camera system that projects a real-time 360-degree aerial-like image of the vehicle onto the navigation screen when the vehicle is placed into reverse. This enables the driver to examine the immediate surroundings of the FX35 for objects such as children and their toys.
