It should be mentioned that the hard top has been reworked for a cleaner look and integration to the bodywork once you fold it away. Rear side windows have been revised, and so was the tonneau cover which is now different than on soft-top models. The hard top adds only 36 kilos to the overall weight of the car.
The 2009 MX-5 promises to deliver the same outstanding driving dynamics and fun behind the wheel thanks to a sharp steering and incredible handling. Too bad Mazda didn't take the opportunity to boost power a little, as the current engine is often maxed out.
