The Forte SX is the sport model in the line-up, and hosts a 2.4-litre engine that's available with either a 6-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic, a sport suspension, 17-inch alloys, a climate control system, leather seats, alloy pedals and fog lamps.
Two engines and more power
The 2.0-litre unit in LX and EX models generate 157 horsepower and 144 lb-ft of torque; that's 19 more ponies than the outgoing Spectra.
The SX's 2.4-litre engine that's also found in the Magentis, the Sonata and the Rondo produces 174 horsepower and 169 lb-ft of torque in the Forte. Mated to the 6-speed manual, the SX has to potential to be a pretty speedy car.
Conclusion
Better-looking, better-equipped and more powerful, the Forte will spearhead Kia's new offensive in the small-car arena. Along with the Soul, the new sedan will definitely help Kia pursue its sales progression in Canada.
Pricing has not yet been announced, but the Forte will reach dealerships in April.
