Only 30 copies of the Frozen Gray M3 will be produced, and obviously they are all spoken for. But those 30 lucky buyers will have to sign an agreement that acknowledges the special care that the paint job needs.

And if the owner doesn’t take care of the Frozen Gray paint, BMW’s warranty will not be honoured. You don’t sign the agreement, you don’t get the car. Basically BMW will likely not be responsible for what seems to be a fragile paint job.

Here’s what BMW recommends owners to do: never wax or polish the car, or it will lose its matte finish; if you go through an automatic car wash, don’t choose one that applies a coat of wax, and rinse the car off beforehand with a pressure washer so dirt doesn’t scratch the paint; immediately remove tree sap, road grime, gas, oil, bugs and bird poop with a sponge; don’t rub too hard, and use special products sold at your BMW dealer; fix scratches and dents at a BMW body shop.
